Sailed in the ocean again..nothing to see, saw a turtle Michael saw a shark flying fish and just water (grumpy today). We visited with Charley and Linda (cousins), had pizza and Skipper ran right to the cat food again. He does that every time we visit. Had a great visit as usual. Happy Birthday Ava.

Sailed in the ocean all day (I can't stand the ocean, rolly) Today the flies were horrible, in fact Skipper didn't even want to walk because the flies kept landing on him. ICKKK! Sapelo Island was once owned by R.J. Reynolds, the tobacco magnate. It now houses the University of Georgia's Marine Institute.

Whilst I was driving the boat I saw this pink flash in the sky and realized that it was a pink flamingo..wonderful sight. Sorry, didn't get my camera fast enough. I also went aground and we overheated trying to get off. The bugs are horrible, 2nd reason we don't want to be in the south in the summer.   The pictures are St Augustine, the new Bridge of Lions, a blue heron building a nest right next to an osprey nest and the Kingsley Plantation house.

Little windy but we put the sails up and flew. Palm Coast is a very friendly marina. We were pulling into the slip and 6 people came out to help (but were disappointed when we used the bow thruster and didn't need assistance.). The European Village was just down the street so we walked over and had dinner at the Mezzaluna Restaurant, excellent. The village is a square outlined with stores and condos on top. After dinner Ron and Doris from the Power Squadron came over and inspected our boat.  This would be a really nice place to live in the summer although they built condos right on the Intra coastal next to the marina and only 2 of them are sold. Economy!

Michael and Skipper got up bright and early, went for a walk and when I woke up there was my newspaper, a card from Skipper and a box of candy. I opened Tracy’s card (that came along with my beautiful bracelet, don’t know where she gets these cards but they always make me cry) and got a picture from Bobby to show he got a haircut for my Mother’s Day present. Would have liked to been home but it was a nice day because I got to talk to my kids anyway. We left Boca Lake, after talking to a 44 ft Hunter,Romantasea,  that came into the Lake from the Boca Inlet, and decided to try the inlet. Off we go…remember last time the inlet shoaled overnight to 3 ft and we were totally out of the water and the dredge boat came and pulled us off. He said that the shoal wasn’t there in the morning and probably wouldn’t be there in the afternoon. OK, we go out and have no problem at all, in fact it was about 13 ft deep all the way out. It is hottt (1st reason I wouldn’t want to live in Fl in the summer) light breeze, and sunny. Michael put the sail up and we went straight out to the edge of the Gulf Stream, 600 ft deep and navy blue water. 11.5 mph..we were flying and did so until about 2 when the wind and waves picked up and we started bouncing all around. Skipper started freaking out, he wanted off the boat. I couldn’t control him, he wouldn’t calm down no matter what I did so we pointed the boat to shore I took him down below and got him to take a nap. But while we were having that great sail I saw a very large turtle, lots of flying fish and many boats fishing. Michael spoke to a trawler that was heading into St Lucie Inlet and inquired about local knowledge and he said just follow him, it is a really nice inlet (and it was). It started getting chilly when the sun was setting. Arrived at Vero Beach at 8:00 walked Skipper (was he ever happy to set foot on land). Watched “Desperate Housewives” and fell into bed.
