The people in the south are so friendly and cordial, I just love it. A gentleman was netting shrimp for bait (I would have eaten them) on the dock at Steamboat Creek. When we came back from skipper's walk there were 2 more men who were picking oysters. As we were watching TV ( I was sleeping) Michael heard someone yelling for help and banging on his boat. It is pitch black outside, can hardly see your hand in from of your face but Michael jumped up, woke me up and told me to get the spot light out. He jumped in the dinghy and took off. Now mind you, I was in a deep sleep and was very foggy and couldn't understand what was happening. I fumbled around and finally remembered where the spot light was and then went out to find out where everyone was in the deep dark waters. I could hear them but I couldn't find them for a while but then..there they were. Michael was towing a small boat to the dock. It seems that the poor older man was fishing, couldn't get the motor started, fell in the water and banging on the side of the boat and yelling help. there is ABSOLUTELY nothing and no one anywhere for miles and it was just a miracle that we decided to anchor in this spot. Who knows what could have happened. Thank goodness Michael was awake and heard his cry for help. The man was forever grateful and thanked him profusely. See we are all in a certain place at a certain time for certain things and we were there to save this man, his number wasn't up yet!!
