Just to let you know the winds have stopped at the dock but the bridgetender insists that the winds are blowing 35 mph and he won't open the bridge so we are stuck here, AGAIN!!!!!
Might as well tell you what it is like here. Alligator River Marina is a well protected harbor with the only fuel between Coinjock and Belhaven (our next stop). It consists of a small (very) store with a lucheonette and gas station right at the base of the Alligator River Bridge. Ms Wanda owns the marina and has a house right on the point of the marina. Our coordinates are N35'54.353' W076'01.712. MM80. When we FINALLY leave here we will travel down the Alligator River northeast to southwest and thhrough the Pongo River Canal to Belhaven. Belhaven I have named the little town that could because it could be a fantastic shopping plaza. It does offer free coffee in the morning at the coffee shop, where have you ever heard of that!! You just go in and give you a coffee to go, no charge, friendly town. The hardware store has everything and anything you would ever want..used books, gifts, hardware, boating things, phones, just about eveything. Now if we could only get there!!!
